Talent & Mentorship
The new CBC system is all about identifying and nurturing a child’s talent from an early age. As a school , we have made this our primary goal to ensure our students are fully prepared and nurtured in a truly innovative and child focused environment.
To fully realize this career goal and objective, the school has come up with the following child friendly and focused programs;
Wildlife and Nature
We have set a very strong club called Semadep Connected Planet. This club has a huge support from the connected planet foundation Uk in collaboration with the Semadep Foundation. Kids are taken through class session on a weekly basis to familiarize them with matters environment, wildlife, culture, climate change and conservation. We also organize trips to the Mara, especially during the migration, field trips for the study of birds and plants and live skills in the wild. All this are fully sponsored by the connected planet foundation in UK. This program is full time handled by a professional field guide, teacher and conservationist.
Debating and Journalism club
This is one of our very vibrant club . In this program, kids are given an enabling platform to practice their mastery of the languages and practice their communication skills as way of building their confidence while strengthening their communication skills and mastery of the language, with more emphasis in the English language. Kids in this club engage in debating on different topics every week, while engaging in journalism, covering different topics and reporting to the whole school on current affairs. Soon we are coming with a school magazine journal to capture this and we plan to take this students to expose them to the realities of journalism and debating . This we can take them to news studios/radio stations and parliament to witness the parliamentary debates.
Computer scientists & IT Club
We are in an error of science and computer technology. To make this a reality , we have rolled out a computer program for the whole school from pre-school to Junior secondary. All the students at all levels are thought computer as a special subject. We plan to introduce coding and digital learning as soon as possible/possibly by end of 2024. This is also a key component of CBC . We have also started an IT club for young and upcoming scientists and computer experts. Here students are given a proper platform to practice and actualize their skills and mastery of science and computer skills application.
Swimming and Hospitality Club
We are in an area predominantly touristic. Here we expose those with interest or talented in areas related to tourism and hospitality industry. Could be future guides, hotel managers , chefs and so forth . We are working directly with camps like sunset camp, oldarpoi camp and sarova mara in a bid to give first hand experience and exposure in the field . They also do practical session like food production and pastry , tour guiding and guest relation field and actual contact with guests. We also organize swimming classes for those interested at a small fee.
We believe every talent is worth nurturing for the full development of each child .
Child Support & Sponsorship
The school has the highest number of most vulnerable and needy children. This is because, we started it primarily to try and help those needy children within the community. There are a few students whose parents pay for their education, but there is still quite a big number who depend entirely on us for their education. We have tried our best to reduce this number but sometimes it becomes really hard. We wanted to help as many children in need as much as we can. We carefully select these kids and try our best to get sponsors for them. Many we are sponsoring on our own through the SEMADEP foundation and sunset camp. So we are very humbly seeking your support to help us reach out for more children in need. You can support one child in primary school, high school or college. You can also support partially by paying their tuition only at $200 annually.
The average cost of sponsoring a child per year, with stationaries catered;
Primary level $300
High school level $500
